From the SOUTH WALES VOICE newspaper of Saturday 8th APRIL 1944:-

REPORTED MISSING
The sad news has been received by Mrs Mary Emma Jones of Melbourne House that her son Sergeant Kenneth Jones RAF is missing after a raid over enemy territory. He was a radio operator navigator and joined the RAF from Swansea Technical College three years ago. He trained in the U.S.
Her many friends hope that Mrs Jones will soon receive good news.


The following information was kindly given by Mr Andy Ingham (RAF Crash Researcher):-

Kenneth was killed whilst flying as WOP/AG in Liberator V, BZ776 of No 224 Squadron
They took off from St. Eval at 21.05 on an anti submarine patrol over the Bay of Biscay. The aircraft was not heard from again and was lost without a trace.
The 10 crew are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial Surrey UK.
