PAGE 2
Intimation has been received by Mr. Llewelyn Davies, manager of the local branch of the Co-operative Society that Private John Griffiths of the 3rd Mons has fallen in action. Private Griffiths, who was formerly manager at the Ystalyfera stores, was a native of Newcastle Emlyn and leaves a widow with whom much sympathy is felt. He was severely wounded in the head and stomach on the 28th of last month and died soon afterwards in hospital. His body was buried in the hospital cemetery. Private Griffiths was well known and respected in the district and his loss will be keenly felt. He lodged with Mrs. Griffiths of Smithfield.
